Savvy (WIP)
App Concept & Workflow
The Problem
The problem I suspect is people are looking for specific items but don’t know where to buy them/for how much and when they will be available. Casual and Enthusiastic shoppers needs a way to find specifically what they’re looking for because there are so many potential retailers and would like to save money as much as possible.
The Solution
Designing an Application that provides a service that alerts people for when/where/and how to buy x product compared to other retailers we will help them save time and money.
What I Learned
Prior to the Personas the idea was just to conceptualize a mobile shopping app. Now I had to take into further consideration going forward.
1) There's so much media to consume now and so little time for shoppers to decide on what they would like to read and buy. Putting an emphasis on user reviews made by fellow shoppers and even employees in store can help readers new and old find something they would like with ease.
2) Shopping online and ordering for delivery or in store pickup is a convenience but could draw away users from wanting to shop in store more often. Going forward I need to keep the importance of in store shopping and engagement in mind.
3) Competition (especially price wise) is already cut-throat in an Amazon dominated market. Vault of Midnight should be able to provide something comparable without taking a loss profit wise.
Competitive Analysis & Features to Include
With a large pool of online retailers and coupon-focused apps to look at, it was best to lay out what features each ones offer in comparison to each other. A matrix table was drafted up and cross matches different features across different sites or applications, as shown below.
In addition, I created a compass that places each of the different competitors' placement in relation to more features, more stock, and features.
